Lots of talk out there about lenders being able to do desktop valuations to allow mortgages to move forward. Great, you think. We can move forward with the application as we don't need a surveyor to go out to the property! The devil is in the detail though. It depends on the type of property. There are so many caveats you begin to wonder what properties will be allowed a desktop valuation. No flats, no newbuilds, and townhouses. And then you have to look at the restriction in LTVs.
